Van Alstyne, Texas -- Graveside services for Johnny Mack Bell, 79, of Van Alstyne, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.  Reverend B.C. Robertson formerly of the First United Methodist Church of Van Alstyne will officiate.  Visitation and lunch will immediately follow the service at the Bell Home at 138 Gentry Street, Van Alstyne, Texas.

Johnny Mack Bell entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 7, 2017 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in McKinney after a lengthy illness.

Johnny Mack Bell was born in Van Alstyne, Texas on August 17, 1938 to Cecil Garnice Bell and Elizabeth Irene Hamilton.  He married Virginia Hughes on July 3, 1958.   Johnny Mack worked for IBM Corporation at the Sherman manufacturing plant from 1957-1972.  In 1972, he transferred to their office products division in Dallas and Sherman where he worked until 1981 where he received numerous sales awards and recognitions.

From 1981 to 1991 he was a partner at Texoma Business Machines in Sherman. The remainder of his career he was a partner in Cutter Communications and Telebrokers until his retirement. He enjoyed golf, horse racing and cheering on the Rangers and Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Bell of Van Alstyne, TX; son, Richie Bell and daughter in law Cathy and granddaughter Lauren all of Van Alstyne TX; sister, Lukie Ruiz and brother-in-law Tony Ruiz of Van Alstyne TX; nephew, Chuck Haker of Van Alstyne, TX.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Van Alstyne.

Serving as pallbearers are Chuck Haker, Tony Ruiz, John Phillips, Jerry Salmon, Terry Joe Cook, Todd Creekmore, Jim Lough and Michael Hynds.
