McKinney -- In 1973, Margaret Hughston, daughter-in-law Joan Hughston, Martha Schubert, Ethel Holt, and Nannette Boyd decorated and opened their homes to raise money so that the Heritage Guild of Collin County could purchase the Dulaney homes at 315 & 317 S. Chestnut Street, rather than watch them be destroyed. It was the beginning of a long standing tradition, and the foundation of Chestnut Square Historic Village.
This year we celebrate the 44th Annual Holiday Tour of Homes - with six beautifully decorated and/or restored homes, Teas at The Pantry on Louisiana Street downtown, a Holiday Craft market at Chestnut Square, and the Brimer - Anderson Grocery (Dixie's Store at Chestnut Square, home of Doc & Clyde's Ice Cream Freezer Museum), all dolled up for the holidays!
Discount tickets available only until Friday, purchased online, at Chestnut Square Visitors Center, or at The Little Red Hen, Plum Creek Primitives, A # of Things, or the Antique House in downtown McKinney. Tea tickets are limited so you won't want to miss that - and you can buy raffle tickets online too!
