AUSTIN – Renlita received the Employer Award of Excellence for the Workforce Solutions Texoma (Texoma) area at the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) 21st Annual Texas Workforce Conference held Nov. 29 – Dec. 1 in Dallas. The award honors private sector employers that are actively involved with Texas Workforce Solutions and have made a positive impact on employers, workers and the community. Denison Industries was recognized as one of three finalists for the statewide TWC Small Employer of the Year.

The Employer Award of Excellence honors one private-sector employer in each local workforce development area that is actively involved with Texas Workforce Solutions. This award recognizes an employer that has, as a customer and collaborator with the Local Workforce Development Board (Board), created and used innovative approaches that have benefited the local economy and workforce significantly. These employers were chosen from many employers with whom Boards connect to prepare today’s workforce for tomorrow’s Texas.

“Texas is known for its workforce leadership, which consists of skilled and talented workers and employers,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Julian Alvarez. “Texoma and I congratulate Renlita for their ongoing commitment of supporting the state’s workforce through employment training and development.”

Renlita manufactures custom-operable doors, windows, and walls. Product offerings include custom-designed and -fabricated vertical and horizontal operating systems. With a variety of options and capabilities, Renlita products are used in retail, commercial, and residential applications. Renlita ships its products all over the world. Renlita works closely with Texoma, and one of the owners serves on the Texoma Local Workforce Development Board.

Texoma was recognized for outstanding board performance, receiving a Sector Partnership & Career Pathways Award. The Sector Partnership & Career Pathways Award honors a Local Workforce Development Board that has coordinated with employers, representatives of secondary and/or postsecondary institutions, and/or Adult Education and Literacy programs to produce the strategies that create the skilled workforce that employers need. These strategies also expand employment and career advancement opportunities for adult and youth participants in the workforce development system who are seeking employment in in-demand industry sectors or occupations.

Texoma is among 28 local workforce boards located throughout the state. The board serves Cooke, Fannin and Grayson counties. The primary goal of TWC and the workforce boards is to meet the needs of Texas employers and workers through locally-designed, market-driven workforce development initiatives and services. All employers, workers and job seekers are eligible to take advantage of these services.
