Bonham -- For a decade, Texoma Health Foundation has been faithfully supporting area nonprofit organizations by awarding grants that allow these local organizations to assist community members who need it most. On Friday, January 5, 2018, representatives of Texoma Health Foundation were in Bonham to award significant grants to two organizations -- Fannin County Children's Center and Fannin Health Clinic -- that are critically important to many residents of Fannin County.

The stated mission of Texoma Health Foundation is to support the health and well-being of the people in Grayson, Fannin, Marshall and Bryan counties.

Fannin County Children’s Center and Fannin Health Clinic benefit hundreds of people each year in Fannin County.

“We appreciate Texoma Health Foundation’s support for both of these organizations,” remarked Sandy Barber, Executive Director of Fannin County Children's Center and a board member of Fannin Health Clinic. 

Texoma Health Foundation awarded a $50,000 grant to Fannin County Children's Center and also awarded a $10,000 grant to Fannin Health Clinic.

"The Texoma Health Foundation grant is vital funding to assist the Fannin Health Clinic to provide primary health care services for Fannin County residents that do not have any type health insurance," stated Deloris Clemons, Fannin Health Clinic Board President.  "Patients are provided outpatient physician services, laboratory testing, x-rays and medications to ensure their chronic conditions are controlled, greatly improving their overall health.  The Fannin Health Clinic Board of Directors is grateful for the continued support of the THF."

Fannin Health Clinic is a free health care clinic that serves people who are uninsured in Fannin County. Hours are 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  An appointment must be made to see the physician, Dr. Diego Restrepo, by calling 903-227-7553. Fannin Health Clinic is located at 1505 Silo Road in Bonham.

Fannin County Children's Center is dedicated to promoting safety and improving the lives of abused and neglected children.

CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, is one of the many important programs offered by Fannin County Children's Center.  CASA recruits, screens, trains and supervises volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children involved in the court system to help secure a permanent, safe home.
