Joyce (Gifford) Taylor was born in Wright City, Texas on October 1, 1935 to Edgar Valentine “Boots” Gifford and Edna Mae (Testorff) Gifford.

Joyce and Dolores, her older sister (a fact that Joyce made sure everyone knew), were very close and helped take care of each other during their nomadic childhood. Both had to work at a very early age, which allowed them to develop a strong work ethic, as owning a home and having a place for others to be welcome was very important to them.

She met and married the love of her life Roland “Bosco” Taylor on April 14, 1956 at Carswell Air Force Base in Ft. Worth, Texas; they were happily married for 61 years. It was always a joy to watch her and her husband on the dance floor as they cut a rug. Family and friends meant the world to her. Joyce was not only a mom to her children, but a mom to many as the Taylor house was always open.

Left to cherish her memories is husband, Roland Taylor of Ivanhoe, TX; son Ray Taylor and wife Judy of Nacogdoches, TX; daughter, Debra Dollgener and husband James of Ivanhoe, TX; grandchildren, Erin, Matthew, Kameron, Taylor, Jackie, Jeremiah, Jessica, and Steven; great grandchildren, Steven, Kelvin, Kaylen, Kirsten, Jordan, Nathaniel, Elliana, Ethan, Keziah, Isabella and Isaiah; great great granddaughter, Everleigh; and brother-in-law, Billy Newberry of Garland, TX.  Preceding her in death are her parents, grandchild, Micah, sister, Dolores Newberry, and brother, Charles Gifford.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Taylor Dollgener, Matthew Taylor, Kelvin Cockrill, Jeremiah Dollgener, Stephen Sobkowiak, Gary Newberry and Steve Newberry.
