Aubrey -- It seems like Whitney Landers did everything except coach during her playing days at Bonham High School and now she is excelling at that, too.

Fans of Bonham High School athletics are excited to learn that the former multisport standout at Bonham High School has just taken over the reins of a Class 4A volleyball program in one of the fastest-growing areas in the state.

Whitney Landers Stout was recently selected as the new head volleyball coach at Aubrey High School.

“Aubrey ISD is very excited to hire a coach with the playing and coaching experience that Coach Stout has attained," Superintendent Dr. David Belding announced recently on the Aubrey ISD website. "We had several strong candidates, and we are excited for Coach Stout to join the Chaparral family. We welcome Coach Stout, her husband, Glenn, and daughter, Ainsley, to Aubrey!"

Coach Stout comes to Aubrey from Class 6A Belton, where as an assistant coach she helped guide the Lady Tigers into the playoffs three times, including an area round appearance in 2017. Apparently, Stout is as versatile as a coach as she was as an athlete because at Belton she doubled as an assistant softball coach on a perennial playoff program.

An All-State performer for the Lady Warriors, Bonham volleyball fans remember the important role Stout played as the Lady Warriors developed into a final four team. She went on to play volleyball at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

The Aubrey Chaparral family will have a chance to visit with their new head volleyball coach Monday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Aubrey High School gym.

Coach Stout's Aubrey Lady Chaparrals will compete against Anna, Celina, Gainesville, Melissa and Sanger in District 11-4A.
