THE SCHEDULE
On September 8, the Lions will travel to Liberty, Mo., to take on William Jewell College in the second game of a home-and-home agreement. The Lions won 59-6 in 2017 in the two teams' only previous meeting.

A&M-Commerce will open Lone Star Conference play on September 15 at Eastern New Mexico. This will be the Lions' second game in the new Greyhound Stadium in Portales. The Lions have a 16-15 overall record against the Greyhounds, including wins in each of the last four seasons.

The Lions will host one of the premier non-conference matchups in Division II on September 22 for CommUniverCity Day, as the ThunderWolves of Colorado State-Pueblo will visit Commerce for a 6 p.m. kickoff. The ThunderWolves have qualified for the playoffs seven times in the last eight seasons, and won the 2014 National Championship.

The first home conference game for the Lions will come on September 29, as Texas A&M-Kingsville will visit on Hall of Fame Day for a 6 p.m. kickoff. This will mark the 65th meeting between the long-time Chennault Cup rivals. The Lions have won the last six meetings between the schools.

On October 6, the Lions will head to Wichita Falls for an LSC matchup against Midwestern State. This will be the 14th all-time meeting between the two schools.

The annual battle for the President's Cup will take place in Commerce on October 13, when the Lions welcome Tarleton State for a 4 p.m. kickoff on Youth Sports Day. This will be the 27th meeting between the two teams, with the Lions winning the last six matchups and retaining the President's Cup for five years.

On October 20, the Lions make the trip to Silver City, N.M., for a Lone Star Conference game at Western New Mexico. This will be the third meeting between the teams, with the Lions winning both previous matchups.

The annual Homecoming game will be held on October 27, when the Lions host West Texas A&M for a 4 p.m. kickoff. A&M-Commerce has won the last four games between the two schools, who will be meeting for the 34th time.

The final road game of the season comes on November 3, with the Lions visiting UT Permian Basin. This will be the third meeting between the teams, with the Lions winning both previous matchups. The Lions' only previous visit to the Permian Basin was a 58-21 win, though only three quarters of the game were completed due to inclement weather throughout the game.

The regular season closes on November 10 when the Lions host Angelo State at 4 p.m. on Military Appreciation Day and Senior Day. A&M-Commerce will play the Rams for the 50th time, with Lions winning the last four matchups.

The NCAA playoffs begin on November 17, with the National Championship Game played in Kansas City, Kan., on December 15.
