Have you ever wondered how a Bonham Police Officer is trained?
Join the Citizen Police Academy to learn more about your Bonham Police Department and its officers. This on-going program is offered at no cost to qualified individuals. Information is provided as a public service to acquaint you with the Bonham Police Department. The classes are taught by Bonham police officers who provide an accelerated overview of the various operations within the Bonham Police Department.
Topics covered will include organizational structure, patrol operations, criminal investigations, Special Response Team, K-9 Unit, narcotics investigations, State Law, policy and use of force. Attendees will get hands-on experience working a mock crime scene and making use of force decisions during scenario training. Our main goal is to increase understanding of police work and to develop effective police/community partnerships. The Citizen Police Academy (CPA) is a 9-week program on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m- 9:00 p.m. Meetings will be held at the Bonham Municipal Courtroom (301 E 5th St.) in the Meeting Room.
