Anna, Texas -- Joyce Wynelle was born in Womble, Texas to Bates and Lovie Lee Cody on August 13, 1939. Second to the youngest child and the only girl of three brothers, Charles, Carl, and Phillip, she developed a strong will, quick wit, and a drive to live life to the fullest. At the age of eleven, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at the Melissa Christian Church in August of 1950. Her love for sports started at a young age and continued throughout her life. On September 12, 1957, she married Glen "Tee" Stephens and became the mother of Jeffery Glen, Kerri Jeanene, and Jennifer Lee. She loved to travel and see the world, and she lived her life with tenacity and spirit that was truly all her own.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Bates and Lovie Lee Cody, and her older brother, Carl Cody. Her life will be cherished and remembered by her life-long friend and partner, Tee Stephens, her brothers, Charles Cody and Phillip Cody, her children, Jeff, Kerri, Jennifer, and Joseph (son-in-law), her grandchildren, Nick, Abbey, Julie, Shanita, Shakeitha, Kayla, Kennedy, Josph III, and Kylen, numerous great-grandchildren, and dear friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Les Smith will officiate and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Melissa. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Stephens, Joseph Evans Jr., Joseph Evans III, Harrison Payne, Rodney Rogers, Anthony Sims
