4-man scramble, limited to 20 teams

Bonham -- The Third Annual Robyn Hill Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is slated for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at Legacy Ridge Country Club in Bonham, Texas.

The tournament has payouts to first-, second- and third-place teams, hole-in-one for each par 3, closest to the hole, and longest drive.

Entry fee is $400 per team, with a meal at noon.

Robyn Hill began her coaching career in 1985 at Kemp, Texas. In 1997, the Hill family moved to Bonham, where Robyn became a Warrior. She wore many coaching hats throughout the years, including head volleyball coach, assistant girls basketball coach, assistant track coach, head softball coach and head swim coach.

In 1999, Robyn helped start the first volleyball team at L.H. Rather Junior High in Bonham. As Bonham's head volleyball coach for 12 years, she compiles an overall record of 277 wins and 114 losses, with a district record of 94 wins and 49 losses, accumulating more than 200 tournament trophies.

During her reign, the Lady Warriors put together  42-game winning streak during district play and didn't lose a home game from 2001 to 2004.

Robyn was selected as District Coach of the Year six times and in 2006 was named Texomaland Coach of the Year. In 2006, Robyn guided the Lady Warriors to their first-ever state semifinalist game.

In 2009, Robyn took the head volleyball coach and assistant track coach position at Royse City High School and in 2010 and 2011 she won back-to-back Class 4A district titles with one area championship and a regional semifinalist appearance. After 28 years of coaching and teaching, she retired in 2013.

In July 2015, Robyn Hill passed away after a three-year long battle with cancer, leaving a legacy everywhere she coached. Robyn's passion was not only coaching, but also making an impact on her athletes. She gave selflessly to her student-athletes, and she will continue to give through her scholarship foundation.
