Lady Panthers pitcher Cheyenne Floyd worked the circle in every playoff game and power-hitting sisters Gabby and Bella Smith fueled the offense to lead Bells to their second consecutive state title.
Gabby stepped up in the series against Crawford, in Weatherford, with a three-run homer in the final game three, 11-inning battle. Bella hit home runs in Austin to lead 2A softball with playoff home runs and received the coveted MVP award in 2017 and 2018.
Bells lost some great players from their senior class last year but replaced them with standout freshmen for the 2018 season. The Lady Panthers have two graduates this season, catcher Ashley Sloan and slap hitter Hali Williams, but Bells will still be contenders in 2019.
The Lady Panthers were not rated in the top 10 this season but proved, again, who should be feared in Texas 2A softball.
