Bonham, Texas -- Funeral services for Peggy Jean Shrum, 69, of Bonham, Texas will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Bonham, Texas. Services will be conducted by her grandchildren, Brandi, Jessica, Ben, David, Sharon, and Mikala. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Shrum passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Peggy Jean (Welch) Shrum was born in Dallas, TX on January 5, 1949 to James Arthur and Odessa Ladell (Bradley) Welch. Peggy graduated from Westminster High School and International Business School in Sherman. She worked at Bonham Mfg. Co., Haggard Slacks and Super Sack for a number of years. Peggy married Jeanie Edward Shrum on March 11, 1966 in Bonham, TX; he preceded her in death on September 22, 2001. She is a member of Ector Church of Christ.

Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed watching sports of her favorite teams, The Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Cowboys. She was a writer, an Elvis fan and loved all genres of music. She liked genealogy and growing pretty flowers.

Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Angie Garcia of Bonham and husband Anastacio Garcia of Sherman and Shelia Cirkles and husband Ray of Bonham; grandchildren, Ben Trejo and wife Mallory of Bonham; Brandi Taylor Treadway and husband Regan of Leonard; David Taylor and Stacey Hayley of Ft. Worth; Jessica Trejo and JR Perez of Bonham; Sharon and Hunter Daniel of Paris; Mikala Cirkles of Bonham; great grandchildren, Colton, Ayden, Christian, Cheyenne, Ryleigh, Emma, Kaleb, Case, Cash, Colt, Sean, Alexis, Brayden, Eli and Fred; brothers, Billie Joe Welch of TN; stepbrother, Wayne Collins of TN; sisters, Shirley Rich Faulk, Louise Welch of TN, and Mary Welch of WV. Along with a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other cherished family and friends.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; son, Red Shrum; brothers, Bobby, James, Benny and Roger Welch; step mother, Zola Welch ; and step sister, Lisa Collins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ben and Mallory Trejo, Brandi and Regan Treadway, David Taylor, Jessica Trejo, Jr. Perez, Sharon and Hunter Daniel, Mikala Cirkles, Jose Perez and John Keen, Jr.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Bonham, Texas from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
