The Bonham Warriors will be looking to build on the success of last week's 42-14 win over Community when the Warriors travel to Leonard on Friday.

Although Bonham had plenty of big plays on offense, defense and special teams, the coaching staff hopes to see improvement in certain phases of the game.

"A couple areas we must improve is tackling on the perimeter and blocking on the perimeter," says Bonham head coach John Fish. "We also have to improve on consistency throughout the team as far as each player doing their job -- making the right play, not the big play."

Coach Fish singled out the solid performance by the big guys up front as one of the positive aspects of the Community game.

"Up front, we played at a very high level," Coach Fish remarked."Our offensive line is really starting to gel and come together. Same thing defensively; our defensive line is one of the best in Class 3A."

Hayden Stevenson gets a block on the corner and Tyler Rodriguez follows Sam Porter through the hole.

Warrior fans will want to pay close attention to the battle up front in the trenches Friday night to see which team controls the line of scrimmage as we head into the third week of Texas high school football.

Bonham goes into the game 1-1, while Leonard lost to Wolfe City and had a double forfeit at Commerce because of lightning.
