Denison, Texas -- Ruiz Foods Team Members have donated their skills and over 530 hours to make over 186 blankets that will go to children helped by the Child and Family Guidance Center of Texoma. The Center helps local families with affordable, high quality mental health care.
Originally the project began under the Ruiz Cares Program, but has now been designated as a bi-annual donation project to be called Ruiz Cares Blankets 4 Kids. To date, a total of 286 blankets will have been donated after this week’s donation.
"This project has become one that is near to our hearts,” said Mitch Martin, Ruiz Foods Denison Plant Manager. “We continuously look for unique opportunities to give back to our community. The blanket donation started as a simple Ruiz Cares Project last year and has now developed into something much larger. Knowing that these blankets are created by hand and with compassion to then be passed along to children as a form of comfort, we feel honored to know that we have made an impact in their lives."
