Dodd City -- It was the final match of District 12-2A volleyball -- or one game closer to basketball season, as one fan noted -- and the Dodd City Lady Hornets bounced back from a loss to Wolfe City on Friday to post a four-set win over the Tom Bean Lady Cats.

The Lady Hornets started fast with wins of 25-15 and 25-11 before the Lady Cats battled back with a 25-20 win in the third set. Dodd City answered with a solid 25-15 victory to clinch the match.

Dodd City sophomore Journie Hilliard finished with a match-high 15 kills and Sarah Brent was also in double figures with 11 kills.

Cassandra Woodlee put down three kills and Tori Dotson had three kills.

Delaney Pilliod dished out 20 assists.

Kylee Graves came up with two digs and Paizley Vaught had an assist.

Dodd City (6-1) and Wolfe City (6-1) will  compete on Friday, October 26 to determine the top seed and District 12-2A championship.
