Public Notice

Fannin County, Texas -- Fannin County Electric Cooperative (FCEC) has a planned electrical outage for converting voltage in the Blanton’s Chapel area west of Leonard. This voltage conversion is the final step in the system improvement project for this area to improve reliability and increase the capacity of our system. FCEC has contracted Southern Electric Corporation of Mississippi (SEC) for this conversion. The conversion will require switching the transformer voltage at many service locations which will also require pulling the meters at these locations. SEC is currently working to prepare for the voltage conversion in this area which is located south of Hwy. 69, north of Hwy 78, west of CR 4965, eastward to Delba Creek.

The dates of the conversion are July 31 through August 2, 2019. The voltage conversion will be divided into three days with a different group of customers each day. No outage will start before 8:00 a.m. each morning. Some of the outages could last up to several hours for an individual group.

A map is shown below with the daily groups labeled 1, 2 and 3.

The schedule is for conversion of Group 1 on July 31, Group 2 on August 1 and Group 3 on August 2. The map and scheduled dates are also on our Facebook page (Fannin County Electric Cooperative). FCEC will update the map and schedule on our Facebook page if any changes are made due to weather or other delays. Please contact the FCEC office if you live in this area and would like us to determine the date you are scheduled for voltage conversion.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during these outages. FCEC and our contractor will do everything possible to keep these outages as short as possible.
