Denison, Texas -- Edward and Susan Bigbee Simms celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the home of Laura and Jason Fulenchek in Denison.  Edward and Susan were married August 16, 1969 at East Sherman Baptist Church with Rev.  R.M. Williams officiating.

Susan was born in Bonham, Texas to W.T. (Billy) and Melba Wheeler Bigbee.  She attended Bonham High School and graduated from Sherman High School. 

After being an Air Force wife for 20 years, Susan graduated from University of San Francisco with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior. 

Edward was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edward A., Sr. and Katrina Cochneuer Simms.  Edward attended Denison schools and graduated from Denison High School, and entered the U.S. Air Force following graduation from Southeastern State College in Durant.  After 20 years in the Air Force, the Simms moved to Denison.

The Simms are members of Parkside Baptist Church, and have three daughters, Alicia Hight, Laura Fulenchek and Holly Case, and have eleven grandchildren.
