Paris, Texas -- Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that traffic signals on four roadways in Grayson County will be upgraded beginning Nov. 18.
Contractor North Texas Traffic Systems Construction, Bonham, Texas, was granted 55 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $1 million.
The contractor will upgrade and interconnect traffic signals along these roadways: State Highway 56, from State Highway 11 to FM 1417; US 75 east and west frontage roads, from FM 120 to FM 121; State Highway 91, from FM 691 to North Loy Lake Road.
Officials noted that this project will require occasional daytime lane closures after construction begins. They advised motorists to use alternate routes whenever possible.
Those who frequently travel in these areas are asked to pay special attention to barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
