Dodd City, Texas -- Dodd City pitchers Aaron Munger and Landon Allen held Celeste to only two hits and the Hornets backed them up with an 11-1 win in six innings as Dodd City moved to 13-1 on the year and 8-0 in District 12-2A.

Neither team managed to cross the plate in the first two innings, but the Hornets scored one run in the third, two runs in the fourth and another run in the fifth to build a 4-1 lead.

Dodd City erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the 10-run win.

Logan Lackey led the Hornets at the plate with a 3-for-5 performance, drove in a pair of runs and scored once.

Brody Mauppin went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kason Carson was 1-for-3, scored twice and batted in two runs.

Aaron Munger took the mound for the first four innings, struck out five and limited Celeste to two hits to get the win.

Landon Allen held Celeste without a hit during the final two innings for the save. 

The Hornets will be back in action Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Campbell.
