Bonham, Texas -- Ella Yvonne Downs Duncan, known as “Gommie” to her family and friends, went to her eternal home on August 8, 2021. She was a member of the 7th and Main Baptist Church where she served as a greeter. She was a member of the Adult III Sunday School Class and loved to great people before Sunday school and Worship with a smile and a hug. She had a very special way of making people feel loved and welcome. Yvonne was born to O.C. and Zella Holloway Downs on June 26, 1943, in Red River County. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joel Ray Downs and James Earl Downs, and her special friend/sister Linda Pearl Stanley.
Survivors include her daughters: Donna Duncan Rich and husband, Mark and Deana Duncan Hudson and husband, Mark; four grandsons, and their families, Colby and Melissa Rich, Connor and Cami, Aaron and Jennifer Hudson, Brynn and Blair, Micah and Faith Rich, Reed and Owen, Jered and Sydney Hudson, Davis and Bowen; nieces and nephews, Toby and T.J. Downs, Tim and Karen Downs, Geri Vonne Downs, Lee Ann Downs, Darla Duncan Deter and husband, Sam, Brad Duncan and wife, Tammy.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Avery Cemetery with Rev. Jered Hudson and Rev. Colby Rich officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
A memorial service is scheduled for August 10, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at 7th & Main Baptist Church, 617 N Main St. Bonham, Tx. 75418.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 7th & Main Baptist Church outreach ministry or another Christian ministry.
