Bonham, Texas -- Sue Coffman was born into this world, early on December 5, 1945, to Paul Massey and Nellie Leamer Massey in Commerce, TX.
She attended schools at Commerce ISD and attended East Texas State University for 2 years. Sue married David Andrew Coffman on November 11, 1961, at England Grove Baptist Church near Commerce. The couple have 3 sons, Larry, Kevin, and Steven Coffman.
Sue retired from various jobs in 2001, having worked the last 11 years at Super Sack Corp. at both the Bonham and Savoy locations.
She has been a member of Lannius Church of God since 1987, where she and David found their true church home. She was active as a Sunday school teacher, Ladies Ministries President, and singer on the praise team until poor health forced her to give up these works in 2014.
She said goodbye to this painful life on Saturday, August 21, 2021, when the Lord called her home to be with him.
Sue is survived by her husband and love of her life David Coffman, 3 sons, Larry Coffman and wife Gwen of Hugo, OK; Kevin Coffman of Campbell, TX, and Steven Coffman and wife Isabella of Sherman, TX; 1 sister, Lois Hill of Commerce, TX; 1 brother, Carl Massey and sister-in-law Barbara; sister-in-law, Alice Massey of Garland, TX; 10 grandchildren plus their spouses; Robert Coffman and wife Lindsey, Racheal Bailey, Brandi James and Jason, Jessie Coffman and wife Amanda, Danielle Richards and husband Dennis, Terra Coffman Brantley, Stephanie Williams and husband Jeremy, Justin Coffman, Lacey Shockey and husband Adam, and Curbie Weaver and Mary; 32 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends. All above are much loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Nellie Massey, brother, Paul Leo Massey, great grandson, Jasper Coffman, daughter-in-law, Kelly Coffman and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX. Rev. Dereck White and Bishop Roy Burpo will officiate.
Interment will follow at Dodd City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Wilson, Chad Knight, Dustin Knight, Dewayne Stevens, Gaylon Hammett, and Brian Massey. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Coffman, Jessie Coffman, Curbie Weaver, and Dustin Coffman.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service starting at 3:00 p.m.
