Celeste, Texas -- The Honey Grove Warriors got on the board in the first inning when the Blue Devil pitcher threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for the Warriors.
Honey Grove notched four runs in the second inning. The Warriors's big inning was driven by a walk by Bryson Braley, a single by Harley Collins, and a fielder's choice by Brody Mahan.
Brody Mahan toed the rubber for the Warriors. The freshman lefty allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 13.
The Warriors tallied 15 hits in the game. Nick Ottmo, Levi Beavers, Collins, Kendal Wolfe, Lucas Morrison, and Mahan all had multiple hits for the Honey Grove. Ottmo led Honey Grove with three bhits in five at bats. The Warriors didn't commit a single error in the field.
The Warriors will host Campbell Tuesday night in Honey Grove and then hit the road Friday against Wolfe City.
