At Park Place Porsche's recent unveiling of the 2005 Porsche Boxster, The Real Estate Council scored with several important announcements for FightNight 2005, which will be held April 28 at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas.

The new, second generation, 2005 Boxster and even higher-performace Boxster S feature a wider stance, more powerful engines, new transmissions, larger wheels and new-generation high-performance tires. Both models are equipped with the latest computerized vehicle control and performance enhancing technologies, and are the first roadsters to provide head-protecting side airbags as standard equipment.

Even in its most basic form, the mid-engine two-seat Boxster can go from 0-to-60 mph in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 159 mph. The Boxster S pumps out 280 horsepower to accelerate from 0-to-60 in only 5.2 seconds enroute to a top end of 167 mph.

Under the hood, the Boxster S sports a 3.2-liter six that pumps out 280 horses and 236 pound-feet of torque. In other words: 0-to-60 in 5.2 seconds.

Michael Kennedy, program chairman of FightNight 2005, announced Park Place Porsche's 2005 Boxster is the official automobile of The Real Estate Council's FightNight 2005.

"Smokin' Joe Frazier will be our celebrity boxing legend and he will ride to the 17th annual FightNight in style in a Porsche Boxster," added Kennedy.

Joe Frazier, former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, was the first U.S. Heavyweight boxer to win an Olympic gold medal. Winner of all the major boxing awards, as well as the NAACP Living Legend Award, Frazier performs live boxing commentary and has appeared in numerous commercials. "His presence will really add to the energy of FightNight 2005," he added.

Kennedy also told the crowd that for the first time ever FightNight 2005 will be televised on Channel 52. Finally, Kennedy thanked the top FightNight Sponsors for their support: World Champion: Chicago Title Company; Super Heavy Weights: Guaranty Bank and Republic Title of Texas, Inc.; Title Fight Sponsor: Lincoln Property Company.

Catered by Wendy Krispin, the event featured a steak and potato bar, luxurious Cognac featuring Hennessy X.O., chili shots and more.
