Gober, Texas -- Frank Morris of Gober, Texas passed into the arms of our Lord on July 7, 2022.  Frank was born to Ben and Lillah Morris in Bokchito, Oklahoma on March 10, 1932.  He was one of twelve children (7 boys & 5 girls).

Frank’s wife, Lela, preceded him in death on March 2, 2019.  Also preceding him in death are his parents and all sisters and 4 brothers.

He is survived by: son, Bruce Morris (Sandy) of Argyle, Texas; daughter, Linda Morris Amelunke of Terrell, Texas; granddaughters, Kristyn Eldridge (Jason), Jennifer Morris and Megan Amelunke; great granddaughter, Miyah Amelunke; brothers, Boyd Morris of Tennessee and Wendell Morris of Arizona; numerous nephews and nieces.

Frank farmed in this area for decades and loved his work, family and friends.  Before his farming career, he was a truck driver, a service station attendant/mechanic (when the stations were full service) and was a roughneck in the West Texas oilfields where he later began teaching new roughnecks the ins and outs of the trade.  When management found out he didn’t have a high school diploma or a college degree, he was fired.  His fellow roughnecks all threatened to quit if he wasn’t rehired…management obliged.  Just one of the many stories of how much people respected him and his work ethic.
