Collin County, Texas -- Representative-Elect Mihaela Plesa campaigned on her legislative experience and ability to hit the floor running—today she’s proven that she can walk the walk. She is the first and only democratic freshman member to pre-file a bill so far.

HB 733 will improve health outcomes for Texans, empower us with information to keep Texas healthy and save our state billions of dollars in healthcare costs. HB 733 would include health literacy in the state’s health plan and create an advisory committee to identify, study, and resolve our state’s low health literacy rates.

Representative-Elect Plesa issued the following statement:

“Keeping Collin County healthy and armed with information and resources is my top priority. I’m proud to already start serving the people. I don’t need to be sworn-in to get to work. Though this is my first term, this isn’t my first rodeo.”

Members can pre-file legislation before the start of the 88th legislative session when members-elect are first sworn-in.
