Fannin County, Texas -- Millard Doan Brent, the unofficial historian of Dodd City, has published an expanded History of Dodd City, Texas, with lots of details and photos. 

Mr. Brent graduated from Dodd City High School, and has been interested in the history of Dodd City (and Fannin County) since his high school days, as were his parents, Millard Lee Brent and Evalyn Doan Brent, both of whom were Fannin County educators. 

Mr. Brent graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce with a BA and Masters Degree in Geology.  From there he attended the University of Oklahoma, receiving a doctorate in Geology.  He taught geology for many years at San Antonio College and Grayson College, moving back to Dodd City upon retirement. 

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Fannin County Museum of History.
