McKinney, Texas -- Douglas Michael Owens of McKinney, Texas passed away December 5, 2022 at the age of 62.  He was born on March 15, 1960 to Max and Betty Owens in Dallas, Texas.  Doug married Lynda Singleton on August 25, 1989 at Megan’s Bay in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.  He attended Texas A&M University- Commerce. 

Doug was a Senior Operations Manager at Raytheon, recently retiring with over 40 years of service.  He loved the people he worked with and enjoyed their continued friendships. Doug stayed extremely busy after retirement.  He enjoyed gardening, working with native plants; nurturing his 12 grape vines; and planting trees at the lot. He also enjoyed fossil hunting at the river, bat conservation, and was an avid sports fan. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his best friend, Junior.

Doug was a loving son, husband, father, and friend.  He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Lynda Owens of McKinney, Texas; sons Don Owens of Sherman, Texas, CPL Kyle Owens and wife, Allie of Twentynine Palms, California, Dr. Matt Owens of Austin, Texas, and Kevin Owens of Fort Worth, Texas; father, Max Owens of Sherman, Texas and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Owens and brother Donald Max Owens.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
