Sherman, Texas -- On Tuesday, January 10, with the sun shining bright, Terry Lynn Green took his last drive by the stadium he loved -- Sherman Bearcat Stadium.

Born on November 17, 1944, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sherman, Texas to Lloyd D. Green and Wynnona (Ellis) Green; Terry attended both Crockett and Fairview Elementary, Piner Middle School and Sherman High School, Class of 1963. In his early years he loved playing all sports with a keen interest in football and baseball. Terry was Captain of the football team also known as the Skinny 20. As their quarterback they went on to win the district championship in 1962. Terry also attended East Texas State University. Terry was a lifelong member of East Sherman Baptist Church.

In 1966 Terry joined IBM until they closed. He then joined Oscar Mayer for the next 22 years as a supervisor at times working double shifts to make sure his daughters would be able to attend the college of their choice. After Oscar Mayer closed, he enjoyed working at Tyson's Sherman and North Richland Hills plants.

Terry became an avid golfer soon after college. Sometimes playing back-to-back rounds both on Saturday and Sundays. He always had clubs and golf balls in the house and car just in case there was time to practice or get another round in. A true self-taught scratch golfer, he became Tanglewood Golf and Country Club's first three-time Club Champion Winner, a record that is held to this day by only a few.

On December 30,1966 Terry married the love of his life Pamela Ruth Hagan of Sherman. Terry and Pam recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. They are the parents of two daughters, Monique Hagan Hoppess (Thor) of Plano, Hillary Lynn Green Hardin (Bobby) of Highland Village. Grandchildren are Taylor Lloyd Hardin (Christian) of Joshua, Hagan Hoppess Lane (Niko) of Dallas, Madison Alexandra Hoppess of Dallas and Sydney Lynn Hardin of Dallas. Great grandchildren are Maverick Terry Hardin of Joshua, Hudson Boone Lane and Hagan Banks Lane of Dallas. Survivors are Jerry Glenn Green of Holly Lake and Rickey Dale Green of Sherman.

Terry's family would like to thank Traditions Senior Living and Memory Care and Guardian Home Hospice for the excellent care, love and support.
