July 17, 1944-February 19, 2023

McKinney, Texas -- Timothy James Sudderth, 78, of McKinney went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2023.

Tim was born on July 17, 1944, in Greenville Texas to James Ewing Sudderth and Mildred Stone Sudderth.  He grew up in Bonham before joining the United States Navy on January 24, 1963.  He became a yeoman second class working for Admiral Hyland of the 7th fleet on the USS Oklahoma City. 

During his service time in the Navy, Tim earned a Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal before his honorable discharge on January 19, 1967.

After returning to Texas, he went to college and bought a gas station with a friend (cousin) in Greenville, Texas.  Later he worked for the L & A Railroad.   He took a sales job with Kraft Foods, which transferred him to Fort Collins, Colorado.  He moved his family back to Dallas then took a job with Top Value Stamps which transferred him to Daytona Beach, Florida.

Due to the oil embargo of 1974, they came back to Dallas.  Tim then went to work for Sweetheart Cup Company, where he was the proud recipient of Salesman of the Year.  After many years, he decided to transition to technology sales with Computrition.  In 1990, he and his wife Alma started SureQuest Systems, Inc. a food and nutrition software company before selling and retiring in 2016.

Tim had several hobbies over the years, “Trains, Planes and Automobiles” was a short list.  He loved Trains, on Father’s Day one year his children took him on a trip from Palestine to Rusk on the Texas State Railroad steam engine.  Tim loved his planes so much that he bought a flight school, so that he could fly everyday if he chose. 

Another of his passions was photography; from weddings, to portraits, to Dallas Cowboys games and taking photos at Sam Rayburn’s funeral. 

Above all, Tim’s passion and commitment was loving and serving God. He was happy to call his place of worship Greenville Oaks Church of Christ.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, James E. And Mildred Sudderth; and son, Jeffery Paul Sudderth.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alma Pentecost Sudderth; son, Christopher (Kelly) Sudderth; daughter, Jami (James) Manley; grandchildren, Mason and Mallie Manley; brother, Ronny (Reba) Sudderth; mother in-law; Ida Pentecost; brothers-in-law; Mayo (Margaret) Pentecost and Jim (Melissa) Pentecost. 

As well, Tim, had a close and enduring relationship with his cousins, nephews, nieces, church and neighborhood friends. 

The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening, February 22, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Funeral Services held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Greenville Oaks Church of Christ, 703 South Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002.

Interment with Navy Honors to follow at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Arledge Ridge Cemetery, 3743 State Highway 78, Bonham, Texas 75418.
