Honey Grove, Texas -- Barbara Ann Livingston Bouton was born in Honey Grove, Texas on March 7, 1948, to Harold Glynn Livingston and Helen Clark Livingston. She reposed in the Lord on March 10, 2023, in El Paso, Texas. She lived in many cities following her father’s Air Force career.

She graduated high school from Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. She graduated from Paris Junior College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and worked for over 50 years as a registered nurse. She worked in hospitals in Dallas, Garland, Paris, Loma Linda, California, Paris, Clarksville, Brownfield, Amarillo, and El Paso, Texas.

Most of her career was spent in ICU/CCU nursing. She was the director of nurses in the 5 county South Plains Public Health district for several years. She served as Assistant Director of Nurses, House Supervisor, Quality Management Director, Infection Control Director, and Discharge Planning Director at Brownfield Regional Medical Center.

Her final working years until her retirement in 2018, she was a Quality Analyst in Quality Management at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso. She was also a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. In 2003 she received a national nursing Excellence Award in Clinical Care from Nurse Week Magazine.

She married Charles Grant Bouton, who later became a Greek Orthodox priest as Fr. Photius Bouton in Garland, Texas. Barbara served as Presbytera (priest’s wife) with her husband in his various parishes during his active ministry, singing in choir, reading at services, and as a member of the philoptechos in parishes of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Clark Livingston; her father, Harold Glynn Livingston; a nephew, Benjamin Vanderslice; and her brother Robert Glynn Livingston.

She is survived by her sisters Linda Vanderslice and husband Steve of Petty; Carol Livingston of Petty; Donna Roten of Campbell; sister in law Lynette Rae (Dyer) Livingston of Petty; Uncle Bill Clark and wife Mary Jane of Electra; and Aunt Reba Whisenant of Dallas, Survived by her Mother-in-law, Margaret Yelverton Bouton of Lubbock; sister in law Bettina Cox and husband Glen Cox of Lubbock; also survived by her husband Fr. Charles (Photius) Bouton of El Paso, her sons Timothy Travis Bouton and wife Elizabeth of Lorena; William Glynn Bouton and wife Diana of Texas City, and two granddaughters Erin Wilson and Alex Wilson of Waco, and many nephews, grand nephews and nieces, and great-grand nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends.

Fr. Peter Defonce of Lubbock’s St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church will be the officiant for the Greek Orthodox graveside services. A Trisagion will be celebrated at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove prior to visitation and viewing on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Bouton, William Bouton, Shawn Roten, Matthew Vanderslice, Brad Moss, and Holden Moss.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Roten, Brandon Moss, David Bouton, Shilo Brooks, Hal Livingston, and Joseph Livingston.
