Bonham, Texas -- Edith Juanita Kizer, 94, of Bonham, Texas, passed away on April 25, 2023, at her home.

Edith was born on November 24, 1928, to Earl Bethel Robinson and Maudie Luella Harris in Marietta, OK. She was known as Juanita to friends and family and as Sister Kizer to her church family. She was playfully known as “Kid” by her brothers, Elijah, Jack, H.C., E.B., Herschel, Riley, and Billy Joe. When she was 19, her mother died. She married Clarence Edward Kizer on December 28, 1947, in Paris, Texas.

Edith and Clarence gave birth to their first child, Edith Jean, in 1948. In 1952, they welcomed Edward Earl, and in 1954, JoAnn. Billy Ray and David Wayne arrived in 1963 and 1968, respectively.

Although she called Bonham home most of her life, she lived in Denison, Irving, Dallas, and Corsicana in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, before returning to Bonham permanently in 1983.

God was Edith’s top priority, and she loved the Lord. She was a long-time member of the First Pentecostal Church of God in Irving, Texas and later became a faithful member of the Solid Rock First Pentecostal Church of God in Bonham, Texas. She was a teacher in her church to many people. She liked watching televangelists and westerns. A strong pillar of her family, she read her Bible and prayed without ceasing. She loved old-time gospel music and worship.

Her family was also of utmost importance. She was a housewife and loved her children and grand babies. As a mother and grandmother, spending time with family was important, and she would often take trips with the family and join the grandkids at Six Flags.

She is survived by daughter, Edith Clark and husband John of Powderly, TX; JoAnn Berkley and husband, John of Irving, TX; Billy Kizer and wife June of Ivanhoe, TX; David Kizer and wife Tina, of Ravenna, TX; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, May; 5 brothers; one child, Eddie Kizer; and her husband, Clarence.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Berkley, Jeremy Clark, Mike Clark, Keith Clark, Eli Berkley, and Michael Kizer. Dylon Kizer, Simon Phan, and Jacob Phan are serving as honorary pallbearers.

We will miss her greatly.

Family visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2023, at First Pentecostal Church of God in Bonham.
