Fannin County, Texas -- A chance for Fannin County, Texas residents to get Involved!

Many Fannin County residents are concerned for our county. Social media has many posts of residents stating that someone should do something. The recent commissioner vacancy and application for consideration process brought forth a small group of individuals who have shared their desire to help make a positive difference in our county.

There were approximately ten applicants seeking the appointment, however as of September, 8, 2023, Ken Fox, Troy Wagner and Mitchell Smith were the only three who have registered their Treasurer with the County Clerk, therefore they are the only candidates officially running for the Fannin County Commissioner Precinct 1 seat thus far. We are inviting both Ken and Troy to a "Meet the Candidates" Town Hall on September 19 at 5:30 p.m. at S.R. Church on 1850 S. Highway 121, Bonham, TX 75418. It will not be a debate and no negativity directed to one another will be allowed.

It will be a public forum where each candidate will have equal time to introduce themselves and share why they are running. Each candidate will also have an opportunity to answer questions submitted by the public, in writing at the start of the meeting. Each candidate will review all the questions directed to them and will pick up to five questions to answer. The event will be moderated by an impartial third party.

This event is being put together by the Mitchell Smith campaign.

The deadline for candidates to introduce themselves at this "Meet the Candidates" Town Hall was September 8.
