After school CF served in the Army as a mechanic and sharpshooter for over a decade. On June 4, 1999 Columbus married Brenda Kay Clawson in Irving, Texas, the couple went on to become team truck drivers and continued in the profession for 21 years.

CF was a man who loved his family very much as well as his beloved four companions, Sundance, Huckelberry, Max, and Belle.

Mr. Underwood is survived by his wife Brenda Underwood of Bonham, Sons; Josh Underwood and wife Heather of Kansas City, Kansas, Matt Underwood and wife Whitney of Bonham, Texas; granddaughters; Kylie Underwood, Madelyn Trinity Underwood, Adleigh Hope Underwood, siblings; Doug Underwood and wife Lynne of Clovis, NM, Wanda Underwood, Brenda Underwood, and Betty Mae, all of Freemont, KS, along with John Underwood of Warren, AR.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Maddie Underwood, along with his sister Marie Peebles.

Services with military honors rendered by the US Army will be held for Mr. CF Underwood on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at DFW National Cemetery beginning at 9:15 a.m., funeral procession will gather in Lane 2 upon arrival to cemetery.
