Bonham, Texas -- Chandler Fox started work on September 11, 2023, as the Administrative Assistant for Open Arms Shelter. Chandler served as a volunteer for the shelter in the summer of 2021, and accumulated over 20 hours of volunteering. His volunteer experience helped to bridge into his employment with the shelter.
Chandler believes that Open Arms serves as a ministry first and foremost. Every person who comes through our doors should be presented with the relief and support that is offered by Jesus Christ; “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
Besides his involvement in the shelter, Chandler has also volunteered for Texas Parks and Wildlife over the past several years. Many of those hours were committed to our local state park, Bonham State Park. Chandler is still currently volunteering with TPWD, and is currently serving as the park ambassador at Cooper Lake State Park-South Sulphur Unit.
