Local leader announces candidacy for Denison Mayor

Denison, Texas -- Robert Crawley, Denison Market President for First United Bank, announced his candidacy for Denison Mayor. The election will be held on May 4, 2024. Crawley presently serves in his second term of as Councilman of single-member Place Four in Denison.

“My private sector experience and community involvement have prepared me to lead effectively on the major issues currently facing Denison - economic development, job creation, conservative fiscal policies, and long-range planning and budgeting for the city. Bringing together a broad base of stakeholders to achieve a desired result is one of my strengths and what is required to get things done,” said Crawley. As Mayor, I will serve all the citizens of Denison.”

Crawley has a long history of serving Denison in a variety of organizations. He is a past Denison Campaign Chairman of United Way, Chairman of Denison Chamber of Commerce, Denison Development Foundation, Denison Development Alliance, Waples Methodist Church Board of Trustees and Finance Committees, Denison Athletic Booster Club. He is a past president of Denison Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, and presently serves on the Board of Directors of Texoma Medical Center and as the adult volunteer leader of the Denison Yellowjacket Mentors.

It is imperative that we have an experienced leader of TEAM DENISON to keep our city moving forward, and I believe I am the right person to do this. I am ready to serve my city as your next Mayor.”

Crawley and his wife of 44 years, Lisa, have 3 grown children, and 8 grandchildren. They are members of Waples Methodist Church in Denison, Texas.
