Durant, Okla. – After a vote by the student body at Southeastern Oklahoma State University during its annual Homecoming week, Addison McCortney and Ryan Murrell were named Homecoming Royalty at halftime of the Savage Storm’s football game versus Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, October 5.
McCortney is a senior mathematics major from Ada representing the Line Dancing Club, of which she is a founder and captain. She has been a member of the Student Government Association for seven semesters and is currently serving as the Student Body President. She is also involved with the Honors Program, Alpha Chi Honor Society, and the Shelf-Care Book Club.
Addison works as a Math Tutor at the Learning Center. She has been involved with the Savage Storm Leaders, the Honors Advisory Council, the Native American Student Association, and the Math Club.
Murrell is a senior criminal justice major from Bonham, Texas, representing the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He is also a member of the Southeastern Cheer Team, which made history by competing in the National Cheerleading Competition in Daytona Beach, Fla. He was also the recruitment director for his fraternity which resulted in one of the largest recruiting classes.
Ryan has been a member of the Student Government Association, and worked for Student Life, Housing and Residence Life, and the campus police department.
