Art show & performances at the Creative Arts Center

Bonham, Texas – The Creative Arts Center in Bonham has many activities planned for the fall and holiday season.
Art Show – the center currently has a Spooky and Mysterious art show on display until the end of October.  The public is welcome to come and visit anytime the center is open.

Free admission. Tuesday – Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to noon.  The next call for artwork is for the November show with the theme of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water as well as Artist Choice.  Artwork for the November show is due Oct. 31. Opening reception for the November show will be on Friday, Nov. 1, come and go from 4:00-6:00 p.m. All are welcome to come and see the new artwork, meet the artists and enjoy some light refreshments.

Art Classes – The Center continues to have a wide variety of art classes scheduled for all ages.   Kay and David Castle will be leading a basket weaving classes on Nov 7. Laura Lackey from Bonham Floral will be teaching a fall floral class on Nov 9.  A six week series for learning to draw with pastels with Wayne Smith will start on Nov 9.  A Barn Quilt painting class and a Suncatcher Workshop will be held on Nov 16.  Additional details and registration can be found on the center’s website.
The center also offers weekly yoga classes.  Kristi Dunbar teaches yoga on Tuesdays at 6 pm and Domanique Allen teaches chair yoga on Wednesdays at 1 pm.  Classes are $10 each for members and $15 each for non-members.
Dia de los Muertos – the center will be hosting a celebration of Dia de los Muertos on Saturday, Nov 2 from 10 am to 3 pm.  Vendors will be in the main gallery, selling their hand-crafted items.  Painting projects will be available for $5 each. There is still room for additional vendors.
Performance Night – the public is invited to the Jerry Rizzi Fall Showcase on Friday, Nov. 15 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Admission is free. Donations encouraged. Come enjoy Jerry Rizzi and a host of other performers as they will share their talents in reciting poetry, playing musical instruments and singing. Doors open at 6:30 pm. You can bring your own favorite beverages.
Sweets, Spirits and Sparkles – the center is currently seeking artisan vendors who are interested in selling their hand crafted items on Dec 7.  Spots are inside and filling up quickly. The center will also be hosting a Sweets online auction on Dec 5.  They are currently seeking folks who will be willing to donate baked goods for this silent auction.
Holiday parties – the center is starting to book holiday painting parties.  If your business, church, friend group or other organization would like to schedule their own private paint party for Christmas, contact the center soon to discuss your plans.  Prices start at $20 per person for kids and $30 per person for adults, with a minimum of 10 people.
Gift Shop – the center operates a gift shop year-round.  It is filled with a variety of hand-crafted items made by local artisans that make great gifts for the holidays, birthdays and other occasions.
