Bonham, Texas --  Edna Cohea was born July 28, 1945. Ms. Cohea passed away on October 28, 2024, in Bonham, TX.

Edna’s mother was unable to care for her when she was born so Edna was raised by the midwife that helped her young mother give birth.

Later in life, Edna and her common-law husband were hit by a drunk driver in Pecan Gap one evening while out for a drive. Ms. Cohea woke up in the hospital to find that her beloved had not survived the wreck.

After leaving the hospital she had no one and entered the nursing home world, where she met one of the workers, Stephanie. Edna became extremely attached to her and began to call her mom. Stephanie realized that she needed someone after losing everyone and took on a special role in Ms. Cohea’s life, with everyone in that facility knowing who Edna was referring to when she asked for her mom.

Edna received great care from the people at North Star Ranch and made many friends through her years there that she leaves behind in her passing.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, TX.
