My mom, Lavona Marshall, was born on February 6, 1975, in Nashville, Tennessee. She gained her wings on December 8, 2024, in Houston, Texas.

Momma told us stories about how she grew up; let’s say she never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything.

Her younger self was considered a wild child with a heart of gold. Mom grew up in a small home with her mom, dad, and little sister.

She met my dad, and they married on December 19, 2001.  She and my older brother, Scottie, welcomed my dad to make their family whole again. I joined in 1999, and then in 2009, my little brother Colton joined us. Unexpectedly in 2016, momma opened her heart and arms for her 4th blessing, Zachary Marshall.

Everyone who knows my mom knows she was a family momma. Everything she ever did was for her family, and she told us, all the time, that we kids were her pride and joy.  This past year hasn’t been easy, but she was still very positive about everything. She knew no matter what, she was going to be okay. She is now resting and is at peace with the angels.

Lavona is survived by her husband, Charles Aaron Marshall, who faithfully stood by her side and cared for her endlessly. She lives in the hearts of each of her 4 kids, son, Scottie Larrentree, 30, his wife, Emily (Also known as mom’s 2nd daughter), daughter, Skylar Stewart, 25, son, Colton Marshall, 15, and son, Zachary Marshall, 14.

Also surviving are her mom and dad, Conetta and David Ramsey, her baby sister, Leah Stewart, favorite niece and person, Mattison Stewart, sister-in-law Angel Delphine, and husband, Bob, her nephew (known as her other son), Charles Jacob Marshall, wife, Tera, and their kids, River and Case, Joey and Jamie Marshall and their family.

She will also live in the memory of several other distant relatives including her dad, Larry Stewart, his wife, Lolita, her brother, Larry Stewart, her mom, Mary Romano, sister, Francis Tardy, and several friends.

We love and miss you momma, Forever and always.

The family will receive friends on December 15, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Waldo Funeral Home.

The funeral service is set for 1:00 p.m., December 16, at First Baptist Church of Luella. Rev. Bobby Hawkins will officiate, and burial will be at Cedar Cemetery.
