Ladonia, Texas -- Fannindel freshman Kor'Ziareona Aubrey poured in 29 points and senior teammate Korshonti Aubrey put up 18 points as the Falcons handed the Dodd City Lady Hornets their first district loss, 56-49.

Fannindel pulled in front early, leading 16-12 after the first quarter and 24-21 at halftime.

Fannindel went on a 16-7 run in the third period to give the Lady Falcons a 40-28 cushion going into the fourth quarter.

Dodd City managed to outscore Fannindel 21-16 in the final frame, but the rally fell short and the Lady Falcons thrilled their hometown fans with a seven-point victory, 56-49.

In addition to the standout performances by Kor'Ziareona and Korshonti, Zabriya Lawerence finished with five points and Te'Asia Judkins hit a free throw to round out the scoring for Fannindel.

Fannindel (12-16, 5-3) will host Ector (12-20, 2-6) on Friday and then close out district competition at Campbell on Tuesday, February 4.

Dodd City (18-9, 7-1) will host Miller Grove (8-21, 4-3) on Friday and wrap up district play February 4 at Ector.
