February Lunch Break Special
Greenville, Texas -- Join us on Tuesday, February 4 at noon at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum for our monthly lunch break special. This month's program will feature an oral history interview from our upcoming temporary exhibit on sports figures from the local black community.
We have conducted several oral history interviews including Byron Bell who played for 8 years in the NFL and his mother Sandra Linson-Bell, Cecilia Thomas Barr who is the sister of the famed Thomas Brothers, Ricky Simmons who played for the Nebraska Huskers, John Mason, Jr. who is the son of John Mason Sr. who played for several minor league baseball teams and Spencer Gilbert who is now the head coach for Carter High School in Dallas.
Museum Director Susan Lanning will be on hand to answer questions after the oral history is shown. For additional questions contact the Museum at (903) 450-4502.
