Dallas, Texas -- Galleria Dallas has become a go-to place for DFW families, offering free performances and a fun indoor play place year-round. In addition to its Showtime Saturdays performances held each week at 11:30 a.m., the shopping center has fun activities planned throughout March 8-22, the two-week period during which most North Texas kids will be out of school for Spring Break.

Showtime Saturdays performances kick off each week of Spring Break. On March 22, David Chicken, a three-time Emmy Award-winning musician, leads kids through a high-energy, interactive performance.

Saturday, March 8, is also Girl Scout Skate Day at Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center. From noon to 9 p.m., Girl Scouts in uniform or other Girl Scout apparel will receive a special patch and free skate rental with paid admission for the first 100 skaters. During Girl Scout Skate Day, from noon to 5 p.m, Five Guys at Galleria Dallas will donate 20% of each purchase to Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.

Next, on Tuesdays, March 11 and 18 and Thursdays, March 13 and 20, kids can participate in Artmaking with the DMA. The Dallas Museum of Art’s Community Engagement team will be onsite from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. helping children explore their creative side with a hands-on art activity.

On Fridays, March 14 and 21, Yogees 4 Kids will present Yoga Storytime at 10:30 a.m. This event is meant to encourage mindfulness and movement for kids 3-12 years old through an interactive storytelling experience.

From Monday, March 17 through Wednesday, March 19, Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center will offer Mini Skate Classes from 9:30 to 10 a.m. These beginner lessons are a great way for kids to stay cool and active during the break. For $48 per student, youth ages 3 to 16 years old will receive attentive coaching by skilled instructors. Attendees also receive added perks including free public skating after class, practice passes, complimentary skate rental and two guest passes. Call Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center at 972-392-3361 to register. Even if you don’t need skating lessons, it’s a great time to visit the rink, which will have extended hours for public skating during Spring Break.

On March 20, enjoy a sneak peek of The J Performing Arts Space’s Broadway Junior adaptation of Guys and Dolls Jr., based on the legendary musical comedy classic about rolling the dice and falling in love under the lights of Broadway. The short performance takes place on Level 1 near Sephora.

Have a sweet night with Build-A-Bear Workshop, a stuffed-animal store that inspires hugs, creativity, laughter, fun and friendship for all ages. With this package, registered children will receive pajamas for their bear and a $20 gift card to use in-store.

The center also has other spring activations in place for guests to enjoy during their visits. Galleria Blooms, a cascading garden of more than 375 acrylic blooms, will be over the Ice Rink, perfect for your Instagram feed.
