Dallas, Texas (SMU) -- Viva Seville! Step into the heart of Spain and experience the tastes, sights and sounds of Seville as the Meadows Museum, SMU, presents Celebrate Spain 2025 on Thursday, March 6, from 5-8 p.m. Paying homage to Seville’s iconic spring festival—Feria de Abril—the Meadows Museum invites visitors to discover Spain through authentic cuisine, lively cultural festivities, a Spanish mercado (market), an art-making project, and more.

All of this unfolds against the backdrop of the Meadows Museum—the leading North American institution focused on studying and presenting the art of Spain—and its nationally renowned collection of Spanish art.

Guests can enjoy live flamenco performances by Flamenco Fever, indulge in fresh paella provided by Sketches of Spain, sample light bites that showcase the flavors of the Iberian peninsula, and sip Spanish wines available from a cash bar. A traditional Spanish mercado filled with artisanal goods beckons shoppers, while an artmaking activity constructing paper feria flowers offers a hands-on way to engage with Sevillian culture. For those looking to unwind, a selection of Spanish cinema shorts curated by Dallas Film will be screened, allowing visitors to experience the culture through film.

Additionally, local media personality and lifestyle expert Roni Proter of Dinner Reinvented will instruct guests on how to build the perfect charcuterie board after they sample Spanish delicacies provided by Deliberico. The museum’s volunteer docents will be on-hand as gallery hosts for visitors exploring the Meadows’ latest exhibition The Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce.

Meadows Museum members at the $150 level and above can get a sneak peek at the event on Wednesday, March 5, from 6-8 p.m. The elevated preview experience includes complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. Just prior, from 5:30-6 p.m., museum members are invited to a travel talk with Santiago García-Dils de la Vega, Head of Luxury and US Market at the Sevilla Tourism Board that explores Seville’s artistic heritage, from its renowned painters to its architectural wonders, while also highlighting how Seville continues to offer unforgettable experiences today.

About the Meadows Museum

The Meadows Museum is the leading U.S. institution focused on studying and presenting the art of Spain. In 1962, Dallas businessman and philanthropist Algur H. Meadows donated his private collection of Spanish paintings and funds to start a museum at Southern Methodist University. The museum opened to the public in 1965, marking the first step in fulfilling Meadows’s vision to create “a small Prado for Texas.” Today, the Meadows is home to one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Spanish art outside of Spain. The collection spans from the 10th to the 21st centuries and includes medieval objects, Renaissance and Baroque sculptures, and major paintings by Golden Age and modern masters.
