Honey Grove, Texas -- On March 1, the Honey Grove girls competed in the Class 1A/2A Region 6 Meet.
 
As a team our girls placed 2nd with 3 girls heading to the state meet.
 
Our top lifters are as follows:
 
Sonora Flowers 1st place in the 114lb weight class with a total of 840. (State Qualifier) Set the regional squat record at 330, bench record at 185, deadlift record at 325, and the total record at 840. Also won Best Bench press for the light platform and Best Deadlift for the light platform.
 
Lily Mahan 1st place in the 181lb weight class with a total of 855.(State Qualifier) Won Best Deadlift for the heavy platform.
 
Avery Reese 2nd place in the 220lb weight class with a total of 720.(State Qualifier)
 
Brooklyn Petty 3rd place in the 123lb weight class with a total of 530.
 
Hannah Fletcher 3rd place in the 242+lb weight class with a total of 825.

On March 4, the Honey Grove boys competed in the Division 4 Region 6 Meet.
 
As a team our boys placed 2nd with 2 boys heading to the State meet.
 
Our top lifters are as follows:
 
Dre Patt 1st place in the 132lb weight class with a total of 1175. (State Qualifier) Also set the regional squat record in his weight class at 460lbs and the record for Total at 1175lbs. Also won the Outstanding Squatter for the light platform.
 
Jayden Galindo 2nd place in the 308lb weight class with a total of 1370. (State Qualifier) Also set the squat record in his weight class at 585lbs.
 
Brody Mahan 3rd place in the 220lb weight class with a total of 1430.
 
Tate Banker 3rd place in the 242lb weight class with a total of 1225.
 
Axel Sanchez 5th place in the 308lb weight class with a total of 1315.
 
Cyrus McMorris 5th place in the 242lb weight class with a total of 1195.
 
Mason Banker finished 6th in the 148lb weight class with a total of 995.
 
Kobe Patt finished 7th in the 220lb weight class with a total of 1240.

All the medals and records are a testament to these athletes' hard work and determination. Both teams being regional runner ups is a great achievement for these kids as they were up against as many as 30 schools.
