Ector, Texas -- The Ector Eagles moved to 2-1 in District 11-2A with a five-inning, 11-1 win over the Dodd City Hornets.
The Eagles jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first inning and Ector southpaw Zach Hull hurled a three-hitter to keep the Hornets off the bases and get the win. Hull racked up eight strikeouts.
Maddox Lappin, Cash Crossland and Gavin Shindler all had one hit apiece for Dodd City.
Kaleb Haggard and Braedyn Barnes both blasted out three hits for Ector. Jace Adams went 2-for-2 with a triple and drove in two runs. The Eagles had 11 hits in the game.
Dodd City will host Savoy for a doubleheader on Friday, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and Ector will host Whitewright.
