The new City Hall facility represents city's progress and commitment to community engagement
McKinney, Texas (March 28, 2025) – The City of McKinney is proud to invite residents, business owners, and community members to celebrate the grand opening of the new City Hall on Saturday, April 19, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at 401 E. Virginia St. The Grand Opening Celebration offers an opportunity for residents to engage with city leaders, explore the new facility, and enjoy entertainment and food.

12:00-3:00 p.m. Self-guided City Hall tours, art and history exhibits, food trucks
12:30 p.m. Ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony
2:00 p.m. East McKinney Learning Garden tours, live entertainment provided by George Dunham & The Bird Dogs
"This new City Hall is more than a building. It stands as a symbol of progress, growth, and the city's commitment to serving its residents," said Mayor George Fuller. "Even further, it serves as a central hub for city services, civic engagement, and community pride and serves as a catalyst for the revitalization of East McKinney."
The state-of-the-art facility consolidates city operations previously spread across nine locations, offering more streamlined services, expanded parking, and added convenience for residents. The facility features open, collaborative spaces that promote innovation and transparency, reflecting McKinney's High-Performance Organizational culture. In 2024, USA Today and The Dallas Morning News recognized the city as a top workplace.
"You cannot overstate the impact this modern, well-equipped space will have on employee recruitment, retention, engagement, and professionalism. The building was designed to increase employee collaboration and create a more connected workforce.
