Austin, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets had an incredible achievement at the UIL Class A State Track & Field Meet in Austin Saturday evening placing 3rd in the 4 x 200m (800m) Relay.  Their hardwork, determination, and teamwork paid off on the biggest stage. 

Junior Kaleigh McBrayer and senior Cheyenne Johnson got the Lady Hornets around the track trailing in fifth place.  But with two great exchanges to senior Cierra Johnson and then to anchor sophomore Gracyn Shindler, they blew past Jonesboro and Clyde Eula to take the bronze medal with a time of 1:47.73, almost 2 seconds better than Dodd City's win at regionals. 

Water Valley took the gold medal with a time of 1:44.88, beating their own Class A record set last year.  Gordon took the silver with a time of 1:45.77.
