Anna ranked No. 5 among cities nationwide with populations of 20,000 or more, placing it among the fastest growing communities in the country. The city recorded a 10.2 percent increase between July 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025, bringing its estimated population to 35,245.
“Anna is rising with purpose,” said Mayor Pete Cain. “This recognition reflects the intentional growth, strong partnerships and long-term vision that are shaping our city. We are focused on delivering results and building a future that serves the neighbors who call Anna home.”
That momentum is supported by continued investment across the city. Plans are advancing for a new downtown dining and entertainment district that will bring restaurants, gathering spaces and new activity to the heart of the community.
At the same time, the City is investing in the infrastructure that supports a growing population. Roadway improvements, utility upgrades and long-range transportation planning are focused on maintaining reliability and improving daily mobility for neighbors.
Community spaces continue to play a defining role in Anna’s identity. The Anna Community Library and Municipal Complex Plaza have quickly become central gathering places where neighbors connect through programs, events and everyday moments.
City leadership continues to guide growth through the Anna 2050 Comprehensive Plan, which outlines a clear and community driven path for land use, mobility, parks and economic development.
As Anna continues to expand, the City remains focused on managing that momentum with purpose. By aligning growth with strategic investment and community priorities, Anna is strengthening its foundation today while building a vibrant, connected future.
