Honey Grove, Texas -- Jackie Lynn Hohenberger, 76, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was born on February 18, 1950, in Honey Grove, Texas to Walter Hohenberger and Gwendoline Oakley Hohenberger.

Jackie was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeana Hohenberger, who he lost to a battle with breast cancer; his parents, Walter and Gwendoline Hohenberger; his grandparents; his brothers, L.W. Hohenberger, Joe Hohenberger, and John Hohenberger; and his sister, Joyce Bohler.

Jackie will be remembered as a witty, lovable, and thoughtful man who always kept everyone laughing. As a senior at Honey Grove High School, Jackie was nominated as the “Friendliest Boy”, a distinction that reflected his welcoming personality, genuine kindness, and ability to make everyone feel at ease. His quick wit, warm heart, and friendly spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jackie began working for the Union in 1985 and retired in 2013. He was also a faithful member of Vineyard Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving children, Michelle Burks and husband James, Cody Hohenberger, and Steven Hohenberger and wife Heather; and his cherished grandchildren, Luke Hohenberger, Maicey Burks, Bryson Burks, Trevin Hohenberger, and Tannon Hohenberger, brother, Tommy Stunkard and wife Tina; sisters, Dean Cox, Mary Edwards, and Ola Buchanan and husband Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Allen's Point Cemetery.
