Suspicious vehicle call in Anna leads to arrest of three, removal of guns and drugs

Anna, Texas (Feb. 7, 2025): A routine investigation about a suspicious vehicle on a residential street led to the arrest of three individuals and the removal of illegal firearms, high-capacity magazines, and drugs from the streets of Anna.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. Feb. 6, 2025, officers responded to a report of vehicle that had been sitting outside a residence for an extended period, raising concerns from a neighbor. Upon arrival, Officer James made contact with the occupants and immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana. Additional officers were called to assist.

Through their thorough investigation, officers identified the vehicle’s occupants as three males, ages 19, 18, and 17, along with a 17-year-old female. A search of the vehicle uncovered:

• A personally made firearm (PMF) "Ghost Gun", a 9mm handgun built with Glock platform parts. This weapon had no serial numbers, making it untraceable, and was illegally modified with a Glock switch, converting it into a fully automatic weapon.
• A Ruger .45 caliber handgun with a loaded magazine.
• Two extended 9mm 30-round magazines and a mix of FMJ and hollow point 9mm ammunition.
• Six bags of marijuana, totaling approximately four ounces
• A scale and additional baggies (items consistent with drug distribution).

As a result of the investigation, three individuals were arrested and charged:

• A 17-year-old male was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – Felon and outstanding warrants out of CCSO for Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest in Veh, and a DTA for BMVs.
• An 18-year-old male was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – Felon, Prohibited Weapon (due to the Glock switch), and Delivery of Marijuana <5 lbs, and outstanding warrants from Dallas SO for Carrying Prohibited Weapon.
• A 17-year-old female was arrested for Possession of Marijuana <2 oz.

“This is a prime example of why we take every call seriously,” said Chief Habel. “A suspicious vehicle may seem minor, but in this case, it resulted in the removal of dangerous weapons and drugs from our community. We encourage our neighbors to report anything unusual—your awareness makes a difference.”

The investigation remains ongoing. The Anna Police Department thanks the community for remaining vigilant and encourages anyone with concerns about criminal activity to contact the department.
